The Assistant Accountant supports the finance team by assisting with day-to-day accounting operations, financial record-keeping, and preparation of financial reports. This role involves managing invoices, assisting with reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions to maintain the company's financial health.
Responsibilities
Accounting Support: Assist in processing and maintaining financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Invoice Management: Verify and process invoices, ensuring accuracy in amounts, coding, and approvals, and assisting with payment processing. Bank Reconciliation: Help reconcile bank statements, ensuring that all transactions are accounted for and any discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner. Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized financial records, including receipts, invoices, and other accounting documents. Reporting Assistance: Assist in preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and monthly financial summaries. Expense Tracking: Assist with monitoring and recording company expenses, ensuring proper allocation to the correct departments and accounts. VAT and Tax Filing: Assist in ensuring accurate calculation and filing of taxes, including VAT, and maintain compliance with applicable tax regulations. Audit Preparation: Support during internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and preparing audit schedules. Budget Support: Help monitor and track departmental budgets, ensuring proper allocation and reporting of funds. Data Entry & System Updates: Ensure accurate and timely entry of financial data into accounting software or ERP systems. Month-End Closing: Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly and on time.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a similar role.
