Assistant Manager IT

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise technical support for the desktop support team.
• Oversee the daily operations of the Help Desk team, ensuring quick and effective support for user issues.
• Monitor team performance and address challenges to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, network devices (routers, switches), and firewalls.
• Administer Domain Controller, Active Directory, Group Policies, and WSUS for seamless management of user and workstation accounts.
• Ensure timely resolution of technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity for end-users.
• Supervise configuration and management of workstations, IP phones, wireless access points, and other end-user devices.
• Design, configure, and implement Cisco Layer 3 switches to support network routing and ensure efficient traffic management.
• Manage VLAN configurations, inter-VLAN routing, and IP addressing on Cisco switches.
• Troubleshoot network issues related to Cisco L-3 switches, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
• Monitor and maintain network topology and ensure that routing protocols are configured correctly.
• Configure and manage firewalls, routing, and VPNs to ensure a reliable and secure network infrastructure.
• Oversee the management and ongoing monitoring of the existing backup and recovery systems (SQL, FTP, Veeam, KLS).
• Ensure regular backup schedules are maintained and backup processes are functioning as expected.
• Perform periodic tests to verify the reliability and effectiveness of the backup and recovery process.
• Maintain comprehensive records and documentation of helpdesk, network configurations, servers, and technical issue resolutions.
• Report network performance, system status, and team activities to head of department.
• Create and maintain network diagrams that visually represent the organization's network infrastructure and topology for clarity and future reference.
• Develop technical diagrams that illustrate server configurations, IP addressing schemes, and system workflows to ensure easy understanding of complex IT systems.

• Take ownership during critical incidents, managing the resolution process to minimize downtime and impact on operations.
