Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Assessment: Conducting risk assessments to identify potential hazards associated with the survey operations, such as working in remote or hazardous environments, exposure to extreme weather conditions or handling specialized equipment.
- Safety Planning: Developing and implementing safety plans and procedures tailored to the specific requirements of the geophysical survey. This includes establishing protocols for emergency response, evacuation procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Training and Education: Providing HSE training to personnel involved in the survey, including geophysicists, field technicians, and support staff. This training may cover topics such as hazard recognition, emergency procedures, equipment operation, and safe work practices.
- Safety Inspections: Conducting regular inspections of survey sites, equipment, and work practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. This includes identifying and addressing potential hazards, maintaining safety equipment, and verifying adherence to established procedures.
- Environmental Protection: Implementing measures to minimize the environmental impact of survey operations, such as preventing soil erosion, controlling sediment runoff, and avoiding disturbance to sensitive habitats or cultural sites.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, permits, and industry standards governing geophysical survey activities. This may involve liaising with regulatory agencies, obtaining permits, and maintaining records of regulatory compliance.
- Incident Investigation: Investigating incidents, accidents, or near misses to determine their root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. This includes documenting incidents, conducting interviews, and analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Communication and Coordination: Collaborating with project managers, field personnel, subcontractors, and clients to communicate HSE requirements, address concerns, and promote a culture of safety throughout the survey project.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitoring HSE performance metrics, collecting feedback from personnel, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in safety practices, procedures, and training programs.
- Emergency Response: Establishing protocols and procedures for responding to emergencies such as medical incidents, natural disasters, or hazardous material spills. This includes coordinating emergency response teams, conducting drills, and maintaining emergency response equipment and supplies.
- Hazard Identification: Identifying and assessing hazards specific to geophysical survey activities, such as the presence of hazardous materials, unstable terrain, or adverse weather conditions.
- Hazard Mitigation: Implementing measures to mitigate hazards identified during risk assessments, such as installing safety barriers, providing additional training or supervision, or modifying survey procedures to minimize risk to personnel and the environment.
- Safety Procedures: Developing and implementing safety procedures and protocols to mitigate risks during geophysical surveys, including protocols for working at heights, handling equipment, and responding to emergencies.
- Equipment Inspection and Maintenance: Ensuring that all equipment used in geophysical surveys is properly inspected, maintained, and operated according to manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines.
- Emergency Preparedness: Developing emergency response plans and procedures for geophysical survey sites, including protocols for evacuations, first aid, and communication during emergencies.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training activities, and compliance documentation, and preparing reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.

Requirements
- Technically sound with hands-on experience of HSE
- 2 years of experience is required
- Strong physical fitness for field visits
- Fluent in English
- Valid Passport
- Driving License (Local and International)

Degree:
Any of the below or relevant degree:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology/Geophysics/Occupational Health and Safety. Master’s degree holders will be preferred.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
- Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law
Office Location:
Lahore (will have to travel overseas for projects)
