Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Behavioral Health Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of medical billing processes specific to behavioral health services, including insurance verification, claims submission, payment posting, and denial management.

Responsibilities:

Accurately prepare and submit insurance claims for behavioral health services (CMS-1500/837P format).
Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits for mental health and substance abuse services.
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and initiate appeals when necessary.
Post payments and reconcile patient accounts.
Communicate with insurance companies, providers, and patients to resolve billing issues.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance).
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines.
Generate billing reports and assist with month-end closing.
